Has anyone driven a new car lately? My Cobra is in the shop, so I rented a Ford 500. I almost ran into two people on the way home. The first time I was at a stop light, I came to a complete stop, looked to the side and looked back again and noticed I was about to hit the car in front of me. I never released the brake. The other, I was on the freeway and the car started to drift into the next lane (I didn't move the steering wheel). When I got home I lifted the hood and noticed that the steering wheel and brake pedal were not connected to the wheels and brakes.
This Drive By Wire stuff is wierd. Anyone else have this problem, or am I getting a case of ADD (Asian Driving Disorder).

ford 500 does not have drive by wire brakes.. just throttle at least the last one I worked on still had the master cylinder + the brake pedal arm pushing into it..

lol elaborate this ADD(Asian Driving Disorder) for me. I live in the central valley and do alot of driving in the bay area, and have yet to hear this term. unless it just refers to them cutting you off, false braking, holding hands, erratic maneuvering whilst driving into the sun, loud exhausts on shitty cars (like a acura minivan or something).

The drive-by-wire is only for the throttle. It would be incredibly unsafe to have it for the steering or braking.
