Many of you probably already know that I don't like the knew Shelby GT500 that much, but I have to give it Props in this video, it looks like it handles pretty damn good. How Car and Driver managed to turn 3 second faster lap times with a base model Corvette than the GT500, I don't know. I've seen a couple videos where a guy in a 2000 Cobra R is wooping up on a bunch of C5 Z06's at Road America, and I didn't think a base model C6 Corvette was any faster than a C5 Z06 Corvette, especially on a road course, and this car looks faster to me than any car in those videos.

Thanks Brent. It was working when I first posted this thread, but for some reason it stopped. I was about to post the link to this video on Streetfire, but I'm glad you got it to work on Youtube, because the quality of this video is better on there.

cause the base model vette isnt a hippo and can outhandle alot of things. prolly took turns 10mph faster than the GT500 could.
I understand that the GT500 weighs alot more and carries most of its weight over the front wheel, but that car was taking those turn pretty fast, and it didn't look like it was being pushed to its limits. I think 10 mph faster is a little much. Watch this video, that GT500 looks to me like its just as fast as any of these cars at Road America. Also the car that this video is being filmed from is my favorite model Mustang, just thought ya'll might want to know that.
You cant judge much from a video. The car being heavier means that the brakes have to be applied earlier, which in turn does hurt lap times. Thats not something you can see from a video. Not being pushed to its limits? You hear the tires howl?
