I think it looks like the very thing that ford moved away from in 1998. They thought the models were starting to look like a "jelly bean", as described by designers and too japanese. I love those generations, but how is such a concept like that less asian derived? I love big, blocky mustangs. Maybe its just me.

Hi guys
First post here....all the way from rainy old England! I'm a big Mustang fan....not an owner yet, but hopefully on '05 or '06 will be mine in a year or two.
I think the GT500 inspired front end of the '09 model looks great. A subtle faclift of the current car. I like it's slightly sleeker nose.
I know I'm in the minority, but I just LOVE the '12 rendering too. Sure, it's in the same vein as the new Camaro (sorry guys, I love that design too!). I really like the "future-retro" style....a forward looking design but one that keeps those key classic styling cues. This looks like a true muscle car to me!

I think it will look pretty good in 2012. When concept drawings look really nice normally the cars don't look as good, and vise versa.
Maybe it can lose some weight, but I dout it.

Very true. 2012 is a looooooooooooooooooong way off. By then, the Camaro will have been on the roads for 2 to 3 years, so that "look" will be a lot more familiar.
It's taken me a long time to "appreciate" Chris Bangle's BMW flame surfacing.....a very colour and wheel size sensitive design language. Although I still think the 1 and 7 series are butt ugly. The Z4, 3, 5 and 6 series are a lot more successull.
It'll be interesting what happens with the challenger. There's a car that's pure retro, as close to the original design as you can get with all of todays laws and legislation. How will they update that? Will they bother?
If Ford really are going for a more radical look in the next decade, I think they should be applauded........as long as it looks as good in the metal

The Challenger is sexy.
That new concept looks just like a Camaro with a pony in the grill instead of a bowtie.
It looks ghey.
That red concept is the current model with nothing different other than a hood and a front bumper.
n8r is ghey.
kidding
That is all.

Personally I'm glad that they are deciding to do more with the v6 cars. There are more of them around then you v8s and have a huge fan base. I would pay money to build my car up to "spank" v8s (j/k) just like I'm planning to do now. I just hope they don't go to crazy with the look of the car and ruin the overall image they have.

Actually... I always understood that platform to be stolen from the jaguar
and I think the new challenger is hot.. the only thing that bugs me is the tail light, retro is cool, but put a breaking point in there in a couple of spots.
