Will a 99 v6 run properly without cats ?
a guy that used to do exhaust systems told me that they wouldn't run right if you took the cats out , it wouldn't be enough back pressure, the sensors wouldn't function properly and, it would run way rich.
Doesn't sound quite right to me.

you can make them run fine with no cats but it will sound like crap and move the power band up in the RPMS probably making it feel slower.

The biggest drawback is how the exhaust sound changes.
Most people do not like the change.

The exhaust turns very hondaish, I would not do it.
Plus you need MIL eliminators to turn off your check engine light, however the car will run properly with or without them.

There's no such thing as "not enough back pressure".

no it doesnt............i havent noticed any difference in bottom end, and have noticed a slight pep up top.
i dont think so...........i'm satisfied with my o/r x, especially now since the newness has gone away, it has gotten a little deeper, he's probably got some glasspacks or other raspy-like mufflers on there.
no it doesnt...............hondas buzz, v6's dont.......they are FAR more higher pitch
the only accurate things so far

This makes me laugh every time I see it posted, and it just gets funnier each time it is said. Eventually, I'll probably die from it.

Ok well I have a question about cats now. Mine sounds f'n good without the cats, the h pipe and the flowmasters.... It is a v8 so I dont know if it will sound good on a v6. Anyway, My question is... a while back I posted a thread about my car not cranking like it should sometimes, it turns over but it takes 2 to 3 times before it cranks.... I dont know maybe once a week. Anyway I have dummy sensors and I see where odie said it may run rich... is that maybe why its doing that?

Maybe..
when it does that had your car been sitting for a while? It might just be the fact that your fuel pump has to prime the car before it kicks over.

+1. Why would you want to run without cats though?
