0-60 in 4.9?

Today I saw a commercial for a red 2007 Ford Mustang GT. It was at a light and another car which looks like a Subaru drives up. In the commercial it said 0-60 in 4.9.
Now this is not the first time I have seen this. The commercial with the dad and son on a blue Mustang with white stripes at night on an empty parking lot had the same thing. 0-60 in 4.9. Sometimes it doesn't say it, but sometimes it does.
I had posted this thread previously, but everyone had said it was impossible. If it is, why do Ford TV commercials keep displaying it. IMO I think it's possible.

No, no. If you looked in the post, I said 2007 Ford Mustang GT. I know the difference between the 2. It was a GT, not GT500.

You would have to be a real good driver, and get some good traction. But it might be possible.

Car and Driver Mag's test drivers repeatedly got 0-60 times of 5.1 seconds. Driver, air temperature, etc. would affect time so under ideal circumstances 4.9s could be possible. Also, claimed 0-60 time for GT 500 is 4.3 seconds...4.4 reproduced by C&D mag.

I say it'll do it. They seriously are not that slow guys. Have any of you actually driven one? They are a quicker than the 99-04 Stangs. 40 more peak horsepower + a much better torque curve with the 3-valve heads + a tune that is about as lean as you can go on a production vehicle.
They will run 13.6-13.7 stock with a good driver.
Also, traction is not much of an issue in these cars. Even with the wimpy stock 235s, mine does not spin. It chirps the hell out 2nd and 3rd, but it doesn't sit there and spin, even in first.

NO he is right.. new stang GTs are VERY VERY quick from a dig.. if anybody hasn't driven new stang GT i say go and test drive and see how qucik they are from a dig.. 0-60 time is 4.9 to 5.1 sec. NOT GT500.. just regular GT
check my ttrack video out and tell me how many sec. do u think i hit 0-60mph. it felt like damn quick.. I use time and between 4 and 5 s sec i reach 60mph. but sure that doesnt give me the right time.. just u judge it!! and i am bone stock to air filter and that run was done over 80 dgrees with 18'' wheels.

I stand corrected then, I just didnt really think about it, I guess my top end is simply amazing vs a 05+ gt.

05+ stangs sucks from a roll and top end sucks as well.. it reaches 130mph pretty easy but after it takes forever to gain..
has anyone red lined 5th gear on new stangs?? cuz i can tell if you red line 5th gear on new stang GT that thing will be well over 160mph.

Yes, that is your problem. I test drove an 06 GT and felt like I was in an econobox...but then again, I drove to the dealer in the cobra...so yeah. Same thing with an 03 Mach 1 I drove...felt like a dud...but again...drove up in the cobra...so yeah.
Unfortunately, you are ruined until you drive something other than your car for a while...or if you get into something quicker. If neither of the above happen, everything will feel like it is dog slow....

Probably a chassis that isn't 25 years old, a taller tire, and an improved suspension.
