With my goal of about 650-700 rwhp when all is said and done, I would like to really solidify the chassis. I am thinking that rather than putting in a useless light bar, to put in a functional bar.
Anyhow, here are some shots of someone that just did the same thing. Any opinions?

It will be so I can run the car at the track with the 700ish hp...as well as to keep everything solid. Asking a set of subframes to hold the car together with that kind of hp/tq might be a little unfair. lol Plus, I will be getting some corbeaus and will be using a 4 or 5 point harnes so the harness bar is a big plus.

after seeing what happened to Rick0636, a rollcage would be my first mod in a vert.
though id like to see a more aesthetically pleasing top bar, like something out of a Quatro TT Roadster or such with a tonneau cover.

You should do it.
Most tracks will not let a vert run without one faster than 13.4 or so.

I think I like the look of it. It shouts, "I'm something serious".

Ummm...why is a roll bar thread in the engine section? lol
I didn't see anything that really fit for roll bars...so it went to the bar...but engines? lol

I have seen some made around a light bar and if they really did the work to tuck it very nicly up and around a stock light bar it would look nice but... no one has ever done such a thing (if they would they would make a killing though) Just make a roll cage and then make a light bar that goes over and hides the top bar and incorporate a 3rd brake light or something~

I say do it... just get a bar that has the removable tubing next to your seat for easy access in and out of your car

Nah...gonna be solid. Any bitching I have about it will be wiped away with a blip of the throttle at that point. If the passengers bitch about it, they can either walk or shut up after they pick their head up off the back seat after I blip the throttle....
As for the light bar deal I have seen a couple installs where they have this type of setup and then the light bar too. Man, did that look like garbage. I don't need a brake light up there so there is no sense for a light bar.
I would probably go like this guy is with the same type of setup with padding with custom leather wrapping on it at some point....or just leave it crinkle black like this one is...

its to angular on the edges, with the roof line it really looks odd the way the bar goes over the top. They are all like that though. Dont put tacky looking padding on the bars that REALLY makes it look like crap.

I like it a lot. Of course, I am an off-road guy, so I always think a cage looks bad ass. Whenver I get into serious off-roading, I will be putting in a cage (if I ever get to that point) Go for it man, I think it would be bad ass.

I asked the guy to post some pics when everything is together to see how the car looks as a whole as if it were driving down the street. This pics are a good start, but I want to see the whole package and how it looks together as well.
