Well I have Infinity reference 6X8's in the front and Infinity Reference 6X9's in the back. This setup works real good if you wish not to take up valuable trunk space with sub. 6X9's kick some serious bass.

If you used 6X9's you would have had to have a adapter and drill some new holes. So you would know if you had 6X9's. 5X7's/6X8's are what fit in our factory holes

If you are going to say those speakers you have to include Infinity Reference or Kappa's, they are just as clean, I tested them all and went with Infinity simple because they were a better price and Infinity 6X9's are the most powerful in turns of bass and clean highs

One reason I'm into hearing my engine over the radio dont get me wrong I like a good stereo but a muscle car is about the power and exhaust note or atleast to me .

My car has a mean sound and a reasonably loud growl inside the car and I am loving my stereo combo cause with a flick of the volume knob I am in music bliss or turned down and I am in engine bliss. To me the balance is most important. The ability of the 6X9's to deliver good solid bass without compromising trunk space is absolutely a advantage to me. The Clarion ProAudio HU and the Profile AP1040 deliver amasing clarity and a solid 80X4 watts to my speakers I could not ask for more. It destroys the Mach 460's and it impresses even the most avid stereophile friends of mine!!!!

Thats cool people who dont travel as much as I do in my mustang dont seem to mind losing some trunk space. Typically I will use nearly all my trunk space when I travel. If I had subs I would severly limit what I could take with me.

i run a single 10" JL Audio Sub in a box with the amp mounted to the back seat. Have more than enough room in the trunk for suitcases, lost maybe 8" x 12" and sounds good enough without vibrating the trunk.

x2 on the boston acoustics... that or MB quarts. Infinities are ok, I had a pair of kappa 5x7s in my old car that i replaced with the bostons which kicked the infinities ass in every regard. The infinity reference is the level below the kappas, just FYI

But you have not heard Infinity 6X9's and Boston Acoustic's are good speakers but they are by no mean superior to Infinity Reference or Kappa's. They has completely different capabilities. The Boston 6X8's or 6X9's cant hold a candle to maintain clarity thru upper power ranges and keep the bass tight. I tested them all in actual cars. The Infinity 6X9 has the largest cone of either 6X8 or 6X9 and the longest rang of through. That is what kills most 2 way or thre way oval cons is the cones are to tight and break and do allow for the movement of air which is why people go to componets with Subwoffers. That is what is good about 6X9's is the area of space to produce bass. I also got annoyed with the tweeter in the BA's it was to tinny.
We I go to Brents soon to finish his motor He can report to you the capabilities of my system.
But like all music equipment, the ear makes a difference and there are personal taste in music and how it is suppose to sound. No 2 people will set a EQ the same. Thats a fact
