I own a 2003 V6 Auto. Is it harmful to the tranny to do burnouts and brake torques?

i'm pretty sure its not the best thing for the tranny to do it...................its probably creating excess heat. and excess heat = bad for tranny.

I wouldn't worry about the tranny as much as your rear brakes. Everytime you stand on the brakes to do a burnout, you are eating your rear rotors and pads.

I don't try to in my FWD car.. my rustang is fine with burnouts..
ponyman --- it probably wont' damage your trans, but you'll probably only spin one tire and tear your differential to heck

and FYI brake torquing isn't entirely hard on it either, it generates a lot of heat.. but no need to have prolonged brake torquing anyhow..
+ brake torquing = the ford recommended way to test a vehicle under load for misfire/other conditions that occur only under load.. now brake torquing it for a hard launch.. can be harder on it

Burnouts = a great deal of fun. Especially in 2nd or 3rd gear. See sig for details.
