i have a 2001 v6 mustang and i am new to the whole ford mustang thing and i am having a problem trying to identify the problem... when i am driving my car it squeks and it sound like the water pump but the car is not running hot and the pump is not leaking, and when i drive it jerks and sometims it cuts off when i am at a complete stop but when i am driving fast it runs fine. i dont know where the squeaking is coming from if anybody knows the problem can u help me please???
please elaborate on the 'squeak' is it a squealing type noise ? a chirp? constant or chirping? can you pinpoint it from under the hood? (keep hands, hair and clothing away from quickly rotating objects though!!) front of motor somewhere's?
I would think most likely your belt and tensioner.. the buck and stall could be a different issue though..

My car was doing the same thing, cutting off at stop, and jerks, but mine did not squeak, but I changed my plugs, wires, and coil packs, and car runs good, no more stalls, or jerking, try replacing, plugs and wires first, then if that doesnt work, then try coil packs, good luck on the prob.
Pull you belt off and spin the water pump by hand. Spin the other pulleys as well. Mine had a water pump go, but it was hard to tell doing that even. try the old wooden dowel trick while it's running. Just be careful, don't get anything caught in the belt. That tends to sour one's day a bit.
