figures, i go out to get some Jack n teh Box tacos, driving home the sunset is badass, so i drop off the tacos at home, grab the camera and two batteries(because even though it sits on the charger 24/7 ill get maybe 3 pics out of it).

i book it to my picture spot(everyone has one right?), park it, get the tripod all set up, by this time the sun went behind the mountains but the reflection in the clouds still looked badass with the misty mountains behind it and the green feild. i get all set up, stick in the batteries, take a few shots to attempt a HDR pic. after one pass, i decide to go for a different angle but i had to turn the wheels. as im turning the wheels, a gust of wind comes and throws the tripod/camera to the ground. mind you, there was 0 breeze before this. i walk over to the camera, it feel face down, right on the lens/focusing unit. now the lens cant move in and out, the picture is distorted, and the menu is uber slow(prolly cause its spending its time trying to figure out why the lens cant focus).

anyone have any recommendations for a good camera under 200$? i know Zim and SpecV take some badass pics, what do you guys use? can you guys adjust the shutter duration/exposure manually(for taking HDR pics)?

btw ill load pics later, im fiddling with seeing if i can make a good HDR pic but the first pics are all speckled from not enough light.

i might try to fix it, maybe just spun a gear on the mechanism that moves the lens in and out.

eh its a HP M307. my parents got the camera, dock and printer for $150. i can prolly buy the camera alone on ebay for under 50 bucks now(they got it for me when i still had the DSM, a good 2 years ago).

yeah Zim has a nice one, or get a Canon Powershot.. I would say buy a camera like mine but it was $1100 with my 2 lens. (Nikon D50 w/ a 18-55mm & 55-200mm) good luck

Get a Canon, Nikon, or Minolta.

those 3 companies right there make the best cameras. Everything else is over priced or just a crappy camera. I've sold cameras for 3 years, I know what I'm talkin about :P I'd stick with a good canon though. These are pretty good for their price.

Definatley go with a nikon. My mom is a photographer and she swears by those cameras. She has a great little digital camera and the battery lasts for daaaays. its a Nikon Cool Pix P4 its a really nice little camera and takes GREAT car pix.
