158k motor hold forced induction?

will my old motor be okay if i dropped a vortech in iT? v2 w/ after cooler.. or a procharger? i hear a lot of things about it, like it wont hold, it will blow, etc.. goodness, i just dont know what to do with my money..help guru's! afr 165s?? little bolt ons?? stroker.. ahhhh somone point me somewhere.. but remember i live in california, i dont really want to do anything too illegal, i just want it fast as hell.. and its my daily commuter..

slap it on, tune it safe, and start a built motor fund, cause its only a matter of time.


seriously though, if compression checks out, i really dont see the dangers.

but if you've got the buy ... go for the supercharger now (I mean buy it and don't install it) then put the money back and do a rebuild for boost.

I say.. a mild bit of boost.. (esp if intercooled) won't hurt your motor at all.. you will need to upgrade your injectors, fuel pump and get a tune but it shouldn't be much of an issue

wish i saw this sooner. Me i through a s/c on my shit when it had about 112K and that bad boy lasted at low psi till about 132K before i had issues. But yes def build up or buy a short block cause you'll end up like me a nixe fox sittin ur garage waiting to be driven again i miss my car
