what would i need to run this safely? What would i need to upgrade?i found this shop doing stroker engines for 3995, i just have to give them my motor as well.. could i run my stock aod?

well it depends on how far amd how much money you want to spend you got to have a good crank something like proble,scat or eagel.How are you going to pull extra power turbo,super charger or n2o or just keep it na?try to figure how many horses and what power adders you want before you build then build around it.The AOD wont last long unless you rebuild it as well.

its gonna die anyway.. i'm already looking to rebuilding it.. but i would like to run a turbo, but for cali purposes i'll run a supercharger.. looking for at least 400 hp.. i hear 347 stroker w/ aluminum heads would do the job.. but when i do have to cross that bridge (tranny rebuild) what can i do to help the transmission? will it support 400+ hp?!

not sure how well a stroked 5.0 with mods to support a blower will pass inspection in CA..

Just take your tranny to a really good transmission shop. I have a full decked out AOD trans with hi stall shift kit the works
Bad boy should be good to hold at least 800 hp def def worth the money i dropped on it

deck out the tranny? they do that? i thought it was just shift kit and tqconv.. n thats it? gemme a list of what to say to those assholes hehe thanks

there is alot more the an auto trany than a shift kit or converter thats for sure you got clutch packs,bands the front pump a few check balls in the valve body plus the sun gear and planitary gears all really neat once you look at it or build it

347 stroker

expect to upgrade to a high flow waterpump
upgrade to an aluminum radiator

you'll want good heads for a 347... 302 parts make 302 power
same for intake, TB and Cam (you'll need much more cam than your 302 unless your going with some very large cross sectioned heads)
you'll need to upgrade the fuel pump and run 30lb injectors or so (for N/A) and don't forget that new MAF to match them
you'll need 28 ounce balancer and flywheel

rocknbronco- stroker kits will include a good "eagle, scat, or probe" crank rods and pistons..
might want to consider a 7 quart pan at this level of investment

and finally you'll have to have a dyno tune, no way around it at this point, the stock computer can deal with alot of modification so long as you keep the cid stock.

and build yourself a little oops money... you'll need it

Look around for a shop that has rep, not to many tranny shops deal with to many AOD but more with the C4 cause its some how easier to work on.

and i agee wit silver def start building up some cash for sure

C4 is much easier to work on and you will need a good ammount for the AOD check inot how much it would cost for you if you got all the tranny parts yourself order what you need from Dacco and B&M
