The factory setup is already a CAI.Just remove the inner air silencer from the inner fender,add a high flow air filter and it's all good.

So smoothing the airflow by replacing the stock unit with a smooth tube does no good, as well as relocating the filter into the fender or seperating it in the engine bay...mmk.

The only real reason to go with a CAI is for looks, and by just messing with the stock unit you aren't even getting that.
