My CEL has been on for about a month now (lol) and I just got it scanned at the Auto Shop at my high school. It said that I'm running too lean. The teacher said it could be clogged fuel injectors, misfiring cylinder because of bad spark plugs/wires, and a few other things. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what it may be, if it's common, and how to fix this? Thanks in advance. - John

When was the last time the wires/plugs were changed? That's always a good place to start, and it probably wouldn't hurt to run some injector cleaner through to see if that works first.

OK well I just went down to the local Kragen and showed him the trouble codes that I came up with from the scan tool and the manual said that I need a new number 1 bank (whichever side that is) O2 sensor. Brand new, the both of them will run me $150! That's a lot of money that I don't have. But my friend is gonna try to pick some up for me.

About the wires/plugs, I have no clue, but I can find out. I can get a bottle of Seafoam for about $7 - $8, nothing major. That was my first thought actually. Thanks everyone!

A bad 02 sensor would cause alot of problems, I'd recommend replacing it if it'll make it run right.

Yeah definitely. I NEED A JOB!! lol I'm really hopin my friend comes through with this. The weird thing is that i haven't noticed a change. Maybe it has, I'm almost positive it has because of the problem, but it's not noticeable. I'd get better gas mileage and power though, wouldn't I?

Check your IAT sensor of your intake. My friend's 06 v6 CEL came on running lean on both banks because his got loose and got knocked out of the cai hole.

Well it said that it was only in the No. 1 bank, but I'll look.

it very well could be the o2 sensor. you can find them online for around 70$ a piece, i would recommend doing only one for now.

i also recommend seafoaming the car. put a tablespoon in the gas tank, then run half a bottle through the motor sipping it from a vaccum line straight into the intake. Try the seafoam first, its cheaper than getting o2 Sensors and who knows, might fix the problem temporarily until new o2's can be saved up for.

Yeah I was also going to Seafoam it. That was actually my first thought. Thanks everyone for the feedback, it's much appreciated.
