What actually is a Resonator compared to a Muffler? Is it worth getting?

resonator just is designed to make your car louder, and should never replace a muffler, should go before it.

is it worth getting? you should look at various setups and sound clips and decide for yourself. each change to each car responds differently; all i know is it made this 4 banger solstice sound even raspier.
