Auto vs Manual

I have a auto 95 gt and i was thinkin about sellin mine and findin a manual..
Could someone help me make my decision by pointing out the pro and cons of the two..

Manual Quicker off the starts unless you spend some substantial moneyb on the Auto
Manual is more fun to some than Auto's
Stock for stock the manual is faster do to less parasitic loss in the tranny. Typically around 15 horsepower advantage.
You can drive and drink coffee at the same time in traffic with an auto
You will have to change the clutch assembly a couple of times before you typically have to work on a auto
It is all in preference

Well my prefrence is a manual...i just thought i would ask...i figured there was more pros and cons to it than that...thanks for the input

For a street car, I'd so much rather have a manual... as in I think an auto isn't really even a viable option.
A drag car is a different story entirely. |

My PATC Interceptor 4R70W can handle way more HP than you puny manual could ever stand without tearing it apart, thank you very much my distinguished gentleman in the bowels of Texas

Your Stang is a overweight lard ass. It looks good and I would like to own it but it in no way has the character or the ability to mountian run like my Stang. Sure you will most likely rap me in the straight away but in the curves you big ass beast even with superior suspension would waddle around like a beached whale in places like The Tail of the Dragon my most honorable friend

that 90 chassis is the worst body for carving corners there was it has more twist than a twizzler stick even with suspension upgrades. Three of the cars I personally know the drivers who have screwed up at the Tail were driving fox body's. I would not want you to die going off the cliff so bring something slow and small so you get the hang of it first being a mountain curve Noobie, My fine oustanding and accomplished man!!!!

PS> I still haven't changed my mind yet. Go with the manual. Why? Just because it is so much more fun to drive. Once you go manual, you never go back. I think that's how it went.

What the hell. Did that guy steal that wing off a Delta 747 or what. That is a race car with 30,000 in suspension and a complete roll cage. It has been built way stiffer in the body to take the corners, Yours is not. I have seen Fox Bodies paint flake on the roof around the pillars from flexing so bad.

Uh... mine has a 4-pt. cage, subframes, welded torque boxes, MM LCAs, Bilstein shocks and struts, H&R springs, MM swaybar end-links, MM C/C plates, along with every bushing in the suspension replaced.
I know that it's no where near the level of that car... but I still wouldn't be afraid to embarass an old man in the twisties with it. |
