5.4 navigator into a v6 02 mustang

|
can you put a 5.4 navigator engine into a v6 02 mustang? we have clearence and mounting bractets are alright...i i dont have wiring for the engine/transmission, the right fuel lines/setup for the fuel rails i have, and dont have the right setup for the coolant hoses. can i get all that for the car and will it all work? |

Yes. My roommate's uncle put at twin screwed navigator dohc 5.4 and t56 into his 01 gt, same chassis, it'll all fit.

Yeh, he ran his for a while before selling it. You'll spend alot of time and money on the small odds and ends.

You're gonna need a factory ecu in order to run the 5.4 then get it tuned for the engine. I can tell you that much. As far as contacting his uncle, I have no way to, He's in kansas and i'm in mississippi

Do you have any issues with hood clearance? I read something about the 5.4 Triton motor (i think) being out in a 01 gt and the top of the motor needed to have the hood cut to clear the couple inches. I think it was an article in FF&MM. Lots of torque!!! :-)

It will drop right-in. Just like swapping a 4.6. The custom items needed will be Intake runner adaptors if you want to run a N/A Cobra intake. a new hood. Exhaust manifold extension to X or h-pipe, or custom headers. You might need a new fuel pump. Besides that anything and evrything that is needed to swap in a 4.6.

You can swap it in, any v8 computer and wiring could be set up to run it, cobra or GT. Both are COP, and most 99+ are COP as far as I know.
