I think it would work ok. trickflow has a track heat kit from SUMMIT racing for 2149.00. It comes with this cam, heads, intake, bolts and all the gaskets. That's what I am putting on right now. It is a good deal for the amount of power it will produce.

I dont think the AFR's and a good cam will be cheaper once you factor in a new timing chain, the gaskets, the head bolts, the intake, and the valve covers. All this stuff is included with the kit. I think the AFR's are at least 1399 and I was also looking at a post on this site which was talking about the valve springs in the AFR heads not being what they should be. A good cam anymore is around 159. So for a few hundred more you can have a complete kit that will all work together well.

Ive seen happy customers with the Holley Systemax package, but the Holley package may be $50-75.00 more expensive. closer to $2200.

I don't think holley has anything on trick-flow...
i've seen too many people rave on and on after putting on that trick flow kit.

I also have the stage one cam and was going to put a Gt 40 on it, but decided to stick with trickflow and do the street heat intake.
