Does anyone know what the top speed is for the 07 v6 is. Today i buried my needle at 120 in 4th gear at only 4500 rpms. So i know i was goin faster than 120 my buddy was doin about 135 and i was right on his tail. And i still had another gear to go

I am sure its a lot less than that. Its less than 120 most likely, maybe your governor is broken, lol...

Yeah mine stops me at right around 115. You're governed buddy, even in 4th. Actually the gearing is so low in the 5 speeds that I dont even get out of 4th on a top speed run... no need to. Mine is getting a tune after the CAI and exhaust anyway.
Hey Rick, do you like your CAI?

I highly doubt a stock v6 running 150mph. blown 3.8's in Super Coupes can barely accomplish that and I can attest to the SC's because I spent 3 nights in jail for 152/65 chasing an E500.

There is no way a stock V6 will go over 120. I haven't topped out any of the new ones, but even with the governor gone, you probably won't be able to pull past about 140 without a power adder.

figure my SC is 3.8 liters (same as the V6 Mustang) plus an Eaton M90S with a 10% underdrive and 150-160 is tough. Point is youre governed which means youre full of "poo" my friend ;-)

i never said it would hit 150mph but that is what the govenor is set to i highly dount it will hit nearly as close to that mark being stock.
and for the record i have gone 120 exactly in my 06 V6 and have not added any power addings to it yet! so its possible to hit 120 mark but ive never gone passed that!

youre governed at 120. Ive been 120 and thats all youre gonna get. We're not arguing with 120, we're saying good luck with 150 hahaha
Me, personally, I like to keep it slower than that. Ive made my mistakes and thankfully Im still around. If you look in my signature you'll see I have a GSR engine in a civic. That engine came from a totalled Integra... nuff said?

i beleive your Right 1quikV6 when i hit 120 granted that i had to lay off accelerator it didnt seem as if it was gonna go any higher and plus going that speed on a highway will get you noticed real quick by Black and White so i dont need my car impounded for stupidity haha but yea i dont think it will go passed that and really why would anyone wanna especially since most do it on the highway anyways which is the most unsafe place to do so but 120 is max and anyone who said they have gone passed is most likely not telling truth!

My 02 shifts into 4th at 120, it's about like hitting a brick wall. It will pull, but not very much, I have however had the needle to the end of the speedometer, coming off a very large hill into the delta (completely flat) on a 4 lane highway.

The governor just controls the throttle by wire so effectively shitting the throttle input from the pedal. When it gets to 120 its just levels the throttle position and holds you there. They used to be governed by rpm in top gear but they got smart and now that we have throttle by wire they can litterally control the throttle by the ECU. And of course the only way to do that is by decrypting the ECU and deleting the governor.

I have a SCT Xcal2, and my governor is gone, but, I could hit the governor in 3rd gear.

The auto is 117 the 5 speed manual at 120 + or - for error, I was radared at 133 with my limiter turned off by my tuner and that took some time from 120 - 133 on level road. The car just wont do any more unless heavely modded.

its not about what the motor can do its what ford lets it do. You have a cut off at 115 unless the tires are better than they used to be (99 gt's for example that came with the 16 inch rims had a cut off around 120 or so due to the tires were not rated over that)

120 in third would be tough considering I hit redline by 90 in third.

The 05+ V6 is governed at 115 mph. Sorry... but you are not doing more than that without a chip.

And the cars are governed for a reason IMO. If youre doing over 120 on a regular basis then I think you need your head examined because youre disregarding the safety of others and to be honest keep it on the track if otherwise. 120 is plenty.

What if you hit a deer going 120mph ... you would probably be dead lol just as long as you kill yourself and no one else then I guess thats your choice.
What sucks is if I get on my car im going 100mph before I really know it... so I dont get to open her up more than first and second gear lol.
