[Kryptonite]

i have a 1999 gt 5-speed....Okay i have my exaust( im about to buy some headers) and i have a cold air intake...i was thinking about some kind of chip to go with but i have no idea what to do! if i go with the chip what should i get, and where? What other mods could i do for under $1,000 and still keep it a daily driver? Thanks

Gears, Nitrious Oxide, Cams. As far as the chip I recommend taking it, and getting a custom tune at a dyno shop, I need to do this but I haven't gotten around to it yet. I purchased a SCT Tuner though.

not much for under 1k.

Gears are probably the best bang for your buck, around 250 for gears+master rebuild kit, and probably 350 for a install. with the other 300, you can find a used Xcal2 or Diablo handheld, you can install their tune, recalibrate the speedo to the new rear end, and play with their tune a bit if you know how to tune, and unlock a few more ponies.

Or for around 500-600 get an xcal2 and a dyno tune somewhere to maximize power if you aren't comfortable adjusting your tune. You will def need something to change the speedo if you change gears, however, if you have a 5 speed, you can use a dallas speedcal to adjust it.
