I've been playing NFS games since the very first one (that I ran on my old 486 machine). I'm pretty disspointed with where they've gone with the series. I like my driving games to have at least a basis in reality, as far as the physics are concerned. The new ones are waaay too arcadey for me. Porsche Unleashed is the best one they ever came out with.

true, i had NFS and NFS2 on the ps1. that was back when they were more realistic, but then again, once GT and GT2 came out, the NFS series had to step back. they really had no choice, if they were to continue with just exotics, they would have been eaten up by the Test Drive series.
Now theyve found their niche again, making games that are more fun and less based on reality, where you can turn at 120mph if you have the right setups.

I would get NFS Carbon, but I'd only play it on my computer so it'll have incredible graphics. Problems though, my Nvidia card fucking blows.
I'm in the process of getting a new mother board and changing the setup to a PCI Express card. I don't know how much it'll cost me, but I'm not looking forward to it.. but when it's all finished I'll be up to date again.
Dual Core system with a PCI Express card.. yum

BTW if you guys played the demo of it, you'd see that you can change lots of features on the bodykits to even the rims. You can get really detailed in what you could do.

I bought Final Fantasy XII, and the Guide to it yesterday, and apparently the game is huge, you can look at the guide and tell, much bigger than FF X. I haven't started playing it though because I'm finishing up another game. As far as the new NFS, I don't think I will buy it after the last game. I couldn't get to the last few guys, and I was going through to many controllers.

agreed, MW was absolutely amazing. I loved every minute of it, I think I even took a screenshot of my longest chase. I think it was.. 40 minutes lol That was pretty intense, and I got away. It was a great game, especially since you were able to drive in the Ford GT.
I just re-installed Carbon and downloaded new drivers for both my video card and DirectX and the game ran flawlessly. I can see they changed the drifting mechanisms, I'm now sure if that's a good thing but I beat all the courses in the demo mode.
The drifting took awhile, and the canyon took me a try or two until I was able to just get in front of the guy and beat him that way.
Best car in the demo, I'd probably have to say the Evo IX - MR. Handles great, crappy top speed, but in Canyon-Drifting it doesn't matter. Sprint it was just pretty easy no matter what car you have.
I do like how you can make the Camaro have a huge engine look to it though lol

Is FF VII good. I've heard its the best FF game there is. I want that game but you can't get it anymore without paying a whole lot for it.

FF7 probably has lost its magic since the graphics are very bad to today's standards. its still a great game and i guarantee will be one of your favorite RPGs/games as long as the game hasnt been spoiled for you. i totally recommend it.
i still enjoyed 6 and 8 a lot as well but not quite as much.
i still think that chrono trigger is the best RPG of all time though.

The first Final Fantasy is the only one I ever really played. Yeah, the one on the 8-bit Nintendo.

FF XII is very fun, and I highly recommend it. I would also recommend buying one of those stategy guides as the game is very big, and has many secrets.

Mobo's are cheap. just gotta find the processor you want, and then make sure you get the corresponding socket size on the Mobo you buy. i think intels standard right now is socket 775 and amd's standard is socket 939. right now amd is phasing out the 939 sockets, so pretty soon their dual core 939 socket processors are gonna be cheap. my DFI Lanparty N4F SLI-DR Expert mobo was 120$ on newegg, its socket 939, has 2 PCI-E x16 slots (for SLi), then a few other PCI slots, has SATA and IDE ports for hard drives, can run i believe 4GB of ram (4 slots) and a shitload of other stuff. youll also need to get a better power supply, the board alone needs at least 350w i believe, and depending on peripherals, youre gonna need at least a 500w PS. plus youll prolly need better ram, no sense in upgrading and still running garbage ram. I like Mushkin, but it doesnt like DFI boards. i have 1gb of PC3200 cheapo ram thats decent, but i plan on getting 2GB of PC4400(or whatever it is) of Corsair ram.
what video card are you running now? and what do you plan on upgrading to if you are gonna do that? im in the market for another BFGtech 7800GT-OC.

The 6800 is still a pretty decent card. That's what I've got in my big clear box.

I've had nothing but bad luck on my NVIDIA though. Games like NFS play really weird on it, like NFS Underground 2. I had to play that on my brother's computer because my video card made everything really.. weird.
Like your car was coming up to a turn, so you'd press RIGHT but the car didn't turn right that second, it would turn right a second off beat. So I'd slam into the wall and such. It really really sucked. So I played and beat it on my bro's comp, I'm pretty bummed out about it. And I keep getting graphic errors and the game constantly freezes on this machine with the card.
Apparently the people at EA have issues with NVIDIA with their NFS series.. you can look it up too, people just like me have had problems and EA doesn't do a thing about it.

I've had all the NFS games (Exception: NFS:U2) on my box and haven't had any trouble with them at all. Don't have the latest one, yet...but I probably will.

eh i just played NFS:Carbon last night. I can honestly say im glad i didnt pay for it, its a total letdown. i went straight in to dorifto modes and holy shit, it sucks. i liked the drift engine in U/U2 but this one is completely arcade-ish. i dunno, maybe its cause im using a keyboard. today i will finish up on my Xbox-USB adaptor(just gotta cut and splice wires, the xbox controllers are already USB with a different port) and set up the control program for them correctly. maybe itll be better then

Yes the drifting has changed, but once you get used to it you can really get some killer numbers. Did you try a Canyon run? Those are pretty fun too
