Saleen Superchargers

I am looking to purchase a Saleen supercharger for my 2006 Mustang GT.
I want my car to remain a fun daily driver and not turn into a moneypit. I've talked to one shop in Houston Texas, and they quoted me $6500 for the SC, installation, Dynotune, a new fuel pump, new Ford GT fuel injectors. Is this a fair deal? I would also like to hear from anyone who done any modifications such as Cold Air intakes, exhaust, or gears.

ah i dunno how great of a deal that is honestly considering the gains from the saleen s/c are quite minimial. If your gonna honestly drop that much cash why not invest into a Procharger or something where the gains would be worth and justicfiy spending that much.

The only real reason people go with the Saleen s/c is cause of cost and not wanting huge gains cause more then likely its a DD

Don't listen to the man behind the curtain. I will check with the shop here in town who is putting down 505 rwhp in his 05 GT with a saleen SC and a couple other mods. I will see what it would run for that type of setup and get back with.

The kit suppusly comes with a Saleen ready tune. heard it was quite lean though from the local guys so they dont bother it what also im thinking is what size inj. are the Ford GTs? cause this is from the most recent local guy who did this job got

90mm Meter
GT500 fuel pump kit
C&L Racer Tube
Bassani LT Headers
Bassani off-road X-pipe
Saleen center-exit exhaust
SPEC stg.3+ clutch w/ Alum. Flywheel

The car put down 505 hp and like 520 tq or something like that. Figure, take out the headers out you are looking at about 450ish rwhp.

Thank you for the information. Ive heard some good things and bad things about prochargers. One thing that Ive heard is that 8PSI can blow the motor. I don't know much about superchargers, thats why I'm here, trying to find the right one. How much boost can you run safely with a stock 4.6?

One of my friends is running 8psi on a 03 gt one is running 14psi on a 96gt and one is running a twin turbo kit from hp at 10psi my opinion its more in the tune than anything.
As for the saleen supercharger my mechanic just finished a 06 gt with that kit and the tune it came with was very lean for his standards.

Yeah, here he didn't even bother with the tune from saleen...just passed it over and did a custom.

The 05 GT here is running 13 psi...

An 02 GT of a customer with a vortech is, errr...was, running 14psi on a hot day...until he went to midnight madness this weekend and blew the bottom end to kingdom come...after being told not to run because he would probably see 16psi in the 40* temps....and was on a stock bottom end. Boomage...

No, he is blaming the tune...even though it was a stock bottom end running waaaaaaaaay above its psi abilities. I was there when it was tuned...it was dead on...in fact, it was a little on the rich side for safety and the cooler weather coming up.

The Saleen setup can make good power when done correctly.
