i went to track today (US41, IN) it was my first time at that track.
i ran 9 times (hot lap.. didn't get a chance to cool the engine down)
first run 13.8@101mph with crappy 2.18 60'
second run 13.7@102mph with 2.1 60'
third run: 14.8@89mph with 2.1 60' ( i missed third and damn shifter wouldn't grab the third.. finally it grabbed but the car wouldn't pull at all and i relaized i was in fifth and i dropped back to 3rd but the game was over already)
fourth run 13.6@102mph with 2.0 60'
fifth run 13.6@102mph with 2.0 60'
6th run 14.0@90ish MPH wiTH 2.3 60' ( i bogged the hell out of the car, the dude, i raced with was JUST lucky cuz i couldn't launch. cuz he ran high 13s and he was the one who wanted to race)
seventh run 13.6@102mph with 2.0 60'
eighth run 13.6@102mph with 2.0 60'
Last run 14.4@96mph with 2.1 60'
i know i can drive better.. and i know i will dig into 13.4 again and again and again..
i think if i would have cooled my engine down pretty good, i would shave off a good .1 or maybe .2 of sec on my ET. track was empty so we wanted to just keep racing and i kept running 13.6 all day. ( i went to track for at least 13.5s but no luck)
oh well..:nice:

Yeah, 1/8th mile. That's all I ever run, so the times mean more to me than 1/4 mile times.

There is not 100% conversion from quarter mile times to 8th mile, but with the tons of mustang information available you can get close.

The general rule of thumb is 1.56 * your 1/8th mile time = your 1/4 mile time. It's not an exact science, there's alot of variables that work into what you run down that last 660 feet of track.

oh thats understood, but i was talking to someone about the difference in 1/8 and 1/4 mile tracks, and apparently at Fords at E-town (an event up here at a 1/4 mile track) it was so windy that they had to only run 1/8s, so we got into a discussion about the conversion into 1/4 mile times (1/8 mile tracks are unheard of up here lol)

I wish 1/8 tracks did not call here home, not knocking the tracks of course our local track needs work in Chattanooga, but the quarter mile is much better for the sport and competion in general and you know who owns who in the quarter not well my car would have took him if it was longer...

looks like cars consistant as ur car was warmed up an more traction was put down on track, only way u can make it go faster then what u have it is either quicker shifts or higher ones or they spray track down, that sucks for the peeps who have to deal with 1/8 there so boring to 1/4

No kidding. I like the turbo 4cyl guys who think that a 9.0 1/8 should be a 13.0 1/4 because of their poor traction. The supra guys are the same way, 'cept they have to wait to spool(in some cases, I know a few that have the supra's set up correctly for drag racing). But, like someone said already, there are enough mustangs floating around to get a good idea.
I know I wouldn't be disappointed with a 13.6 at 102 that's stone stock. That's about what I've heard them run from the factory. There are some freaks that have run in PERFECT and I mean PERFECT track conditions with lower times.
