neutral and brakes... depends though
On the interstate to just slow down ill let the engine do it, around town I dont engine brake, wastes gas.

At the track or on the highway I do a combination
around town I just use brakes.. but I don't put it in neutral and hit the brakes, I push the clutch in and get the shifter ready in whichever gear I'd need.. <-- unless coming to a stop

I normally put it in neutral, every once in a while I might do engine braking just for the sound lol.

in the cobra, i usually downshift into 3rd, then pop it in neutral, unless i have to come to a stop quickly and make my presence known, then i will go into 2nd.
in the GT, i will always downshift and slow down more using the engine, unless im lazy then i might just pop it into neutral after 3rd.

With no cops around, I down shift around town...only because it is a sound that requires a towel afterwards. If there is a po po like the one trying to peel the dirt off my rear bumper today, then I do the neutral and brakes.

brakes are easier to replace than clutches, so I usually stick to the brakes, but, the engine is fun sometimes

I downshift until I have to brake then while I'm braking I downshifting into the gear that I want to use at whatever speed I'm at, but I never just stick it in Neutral.

A little bit of both. Usually the only time I downshift though is if I'm slowing down coming in to a turn or something and I'm about to be using that gear anyway. Otherwise, it's neutral all the way.

With an offroad X, NY tags, expired NY inspection, and no valid NY registration documents (although my reggy is valid, they don't forward those documents and won't ship them to out of state addresses), I don't want to pull any un-needed attention.
I have had a couple of cops pull u turns when I was down shifting to stop when I didn't see them...don't need to push my luck. lol

I put it in neutral and slow down with the brake when comming to a stop. If I am not going to come to a full stop I just push in the clutch and wait to select my gear.
Its much worse to use the tranny to slow you down, dont do it.

Downshift under normal braking. Throw it in neutral and slam on the brakes in a panic stop. That was in my old truck when I almost always drove into a panic stop situation. But I don't drive standard too much anymore.
