It said the Cobra had 675 RWHP at 15 psi with twin T57's on pump gas. Thats pretty good. Throw some bigger turbos on it and it will make even more. Notice the Cobra with 175hp less HP had pretty much won already by the time the Evo caught up. Still 850 HP from 2.3 liters is pretty damn good, but I think that Cobra would be better for everything except drag racing.

the real question is if that Evo pushing that much hp why didnt it destroy the cobra?
Honestly Ive seen lesser hp evos completely trash the cobra.

lol this video is like 2 weeks old now.
youre talking an AMS Evo. Theyre built and tuned to run ungodly amounts of boost, and even with AWD, theyre only useful after 80mph. though its funny, used to be freeway+awd was a bad combo, drivetrain loss would take into effect and the faster you go, the worse it gets. the evos seem to break this rule. though it still takes a long time to spool a GT42R or whatever he had on a 2.3L, youre talking about a 1,500-2000rpm powerband. he has to be in 4th or 5th gear to make use of that powerband, anything less and he either spins or bounces the rev limiter before he can react. Plus they are usually built and tuned to run an additional 100shot or more to increase the powerband/aid in spool, though for some reason none of them choose to do so, either 1) they are scared, or 2) they use it and lie. the evo/dsm crowd are sneaky bastids, i should know, im still part of the world, so i wouldnt put it past them, most kiddies will believe anything you put in writing on the net nowadays.
i think the cobra guy is running the stock bottom end still. if he really wanted to push it, he could go up to 20psi if his fuel system will support it, and that evo wouldnt have caught up, or it would have taken to well over 170+ to do so, and the evo tops out at 165 or 170(MR) because it just runs out of gearing.
money wise you could compare them and they come out almost equal. buy the evo for 35k, spend 15k in mods, or buy the cobra for 40k and spend 10k in mods. its all relative, which is what made this a very good race.

Cars spend most of their life sitting still... which would you rather look at... a box on wheels or the mustang.
