All of the Star Wars have been running on Cinemax all weekend in high def. Its on Empire Strikes back now if anyone is interested.
The originals are much better than I, II, and III, but I still enjoy watching all of them, especially in order.

^nah. they'd have to use different main actors, and that would change the spirit of the films... honestly, can you think of han solo without harrison ford coming to mind?
plus, lucas has "bigger is better" syndrome now. the effect would ruin the originals the way he ruined the new ones

remake 4,5 and 6? no fucking way. adding in a few special scenes was just enough to bring them back up to modern levels. as far as remaking the same movies just so they dont have old people playing them is a no-no. 4,5 and 6 dont need the awesome special effects to keep you entertained like the prequels did. i think if Lucas relied less on special effects and more on the storyline and acting, the prequels might have lived up to the originals. but as they sit now, theyre just showing how far we can push special effects with insane-o budgets.
i think Lucas needs to go ahead and do 7-9 before Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hammil croak. I think its retarded hes doing more Indy Jones' again, like dude cmon, we have Tomb Raider now. Lara Croft>Indy Jones. besides, whos gonna actually take a 75 year old guy running around with a whip seriously?

well they look like piles of shit with nearly no budget, they could have been done much better. I agree that they cant just remake them and get the same spirit of the film. Its basically all George has ever done~ so he could make some cash and you knew many would go see them lol.

^please dude, the tomb raider movies suck compared to indy.. the second TR movie was especially bad... the highlight of both TRs was the beginning of the first one where jolie was stuffed into those short shorts
i do agree that another indy movie is stupid though. ford is getting up there
and SW 7-9 won't happen. lucas said he won't do them and has it locked up so no one else will be able to

unless his son wants to. plus copyright laws only extend 25 years past the artist or owners death. dunno if that holds for the movie industry or not, but to think well never see another star wars movie in our lifetime brings a tear to me eye. id like to see one that has nothing to do with dark vs light, but id just like to see movies based around massive fleet battles versus the Rebels and Empire, the most awesomest times IMO.

he probably has it set to pass on to his estate. that's what tolkien did
and look how tolkien's son mangled the middle earth story with his "books" ...i'd rather see star wars stop while it's ahead
unless they take zahn's thrawn trilogy and make those into movies. then i'd be down with it. not to mention that the original stars would be able to reprise their roles... who would they get to play thrawn though... hmmmm
what i'd really rather see is an anime series than a live action movie. not that cheap looking clone wars anime crap though... i'm talkin like vampire hunter d style art anime... give me the new jedi order series as an anime by the artists of vampire hunter d and i'll be a die hard fan

i almost want to say michael rosenbaum (lex on smallville) but thrawn is like 60-70 years old in the Heir trilogy, so that might be difficult age-wise... i think rosenbaum's voice would be great for the part though... and the necessary make-up would cover up the age cues

Tolkien's movies were very good its not super easy to make a movie from a book much less one that was written so very odd as it were, but they definatly had to leave a good bit of it out~ makes me wish they would have done 4 movies to get it all in.
