MR2 owner seeks help from Mustang owners

I am looking to use rims that come in:
17X11 (rears) & 17X8 (fronts)
... and, of course, a grassroots pricing would be nice

I currently have Mustang cobra wheels on the car now (17X9 and 17x8):

... so, obviously Mustang sizes (from those years) will work.

Anyone know what year of Mustang Cobra those wheels came from?
I think it's '95 or so.

Anyway, the 9" wide in the rear is not working for me. I would like to go to 11".

So, what affordable options are out there that comes in both 17X11s and 17X8?
I am hoping to spend under $300 per wheel.
I already have a custom set of rims for drag racing so these will be used exclusively for SCCA hillclimbs & road courses.

What does the Mustang crowd typically use for road racing that comes in a 17X11?

I think your front wheels are probably 98 Cobra wheels, and your back wheels are probably 95 Cobra Rs. As far as 17x11" wheels, I don't think Ford makes any for Mustang, but you can go with some replica Ford Racing wheels that will match your fronts pretty good. Their 10.5" wide instead of 11" but I think you can get replica Bullit, or FR500 wheels in 17x11".

I've been looking at those. 10.5 is the thinnest I could get away with for my goals, but I would prefer 11s.

My real concern with those is the 9" for the fronts.
I know (obviously) that the 17X8s I have fit with little problems,
I'm just not sure about a 17X9.

Do you know anyone using these wheels?
Do they stand up to hard driving?
Are they heavy?

On some of the hillclimbs we do, I see in excess of 130 mph.
These are public roads so the road surfaces are far from "prepared tracks."
At one particular event we also get some healthy air ... I wonder how these wheels would hold up to 2800 lbs coming down from 5-6 incheas onto them?

As far as finding matching 17x8/17x11 Ford wheels, I don't think you can.

And I don't know anything about these wheels, but I imagen they must be pretty strong, as I've seen them on several 03/04 Cobra's.

You can get some AFS brand 17x11 95 Cobra R style wheels (get the origional cast the updated latest cast looks like ****) but... they do not make that wheel in a 17x8... only 17x9 at the smallest. You could have them shaved an inch~ but thats all I know of.
