I have a 95' 3.8. I'm putting an Air/Fuel gauge and an oil pressure gauge on my A pillar. I want to keep my factory oil pressure sender connected. The factory sender is in a HARD to reach place. It's just impossible seems like. Is there a port somewhere else that I can use for the autometer gauge sending unit?....or is there some way to get to the factory port? HELP!!!!

if you look on your oil filter you will see a bolt that you can remove that is about a quarter size. Its on the oil sending unit by the oil filter. You can get some adaptors and plug them into that hole (get a 90 degree bend cuz it will hit your front sway bar if you just bolt it right up with an adaptor) once you get under there you will see what I mean.

So this is an extra hole that I can use and leave my factory sending unit alone?

yup, just read that article and you will be good to go. I had major issues finding the right fitment of adaptors (there are many types of thread... so you should be prepared to make a few trips and TAKE THE PLUG YOU REMOVE with you so you can test fit it. I think I had to use 1/2 flare fitting.

Unless it is a wideband Air\fuel guage then dont waste your time they are junk, I had one and its just a light show by the time it says your lean the motor will be gone already. Just trying to save you some time and money if you have not already purchased it
Save and get a wideband if you want to read A\F correctly

a water temp and oil pressure are actually needed as neither is worth a **** on the car a they come from the factory. The oil pressure basically comes on at 6psi ... and then does nothing and the N O R M A L span on the temp is laughable... why cant ford use NUMBERS!... and gauges that actually work.

I went out and looked at my car and there is no plug in the oil filter housing. Mine is the old style 3.8. It looks different than the one on those pictures. I don't have a whole lot of aftermarket stuff on my car so I think I'm just gunna get some white face EL's for my stock gauges. I'm getting ready to do a lot of body work to fix a fender bender I was recently in and repaint the whole car so I guess I should just save the money anyway.....

Thanks for all the input guys, but I found my solution. I made a good firend this weekend and........he's a pro mechanic. He does performance stuff too. I showed him the factory sender that I thought was just impossible to get to and he laughed at me and said "When u got $15,000 worth of tools and 28 years of experience that shit is easy" so when I get all the materials I need I'm gunna take it over to his shop at his house and he's going to help me. He's even got the sender unit socket I need. Does anybody know which autometer gauges light up the traditional way (around the bezel) and have an aluminum bezel. I looked at some parts stores and the only autometers they had with aluminum bezels had an aluminum gauge face too. I want white face with around the bezel lighting and an aluminuim bezel.
