McCain summed up what the Republicans did wrong better than anyone:

I so wish he'd got the nod in '00. Hopefully, the first few states that hold primaries (you know, the few states that pick the presidential candidates for the rest of us ) will decide he's the man for the job.

I wish we would do away with the electoral college and simply have vote numbers... we should be capable of doing that in todays age.

I actually agree because then candidates would have to worry about those states that don't have a million electoral votes...they can't win 8 states and make it...

McCain would get my vote in 08. I like his no frills, no nonsense approach to government and politics. Plus he's a vet. Some of our best presidents back in the day were.

I don't agree with some of his stances, but the fact that he takes a position and doesn't waffle around all the time is something I can respect...and would, too, vote for him in 08...would have in 00 if he would have been tapped.

I'd vote for McCain. I too hate the electoral college and can't wait for the demise of it.
