exhaust on a v6

I drive a 99 3.8L V6. I dont have the money for a full exhaust system. What do you think about getting the piping welded in w/o a muffler? will this be too loud?

So basically a straight pipe? Not only would that sound like pure caca...it would get you pulled over very much quick as it will sound like a tractor.

dont do it, save up for a GT take off dual exhaust setup and have it fabricated to fit and then save up for mufflers of your taste if the stock gt mufflers dont do it for you

i got 2 force automotive mufflers from summit racing @ $32.95 each. then have a muffler shop cut out the y-pipe and run pipes from the cats to the mufflers and then turn downs right after the mufflers. this eliminates the need for over-the-axle rear exits which can be installed when you get the money. hth.

i like my o/r x on my v6


i've only had two negative remarks about it.........one from a z06 owner (go figure ) and one from my gf's brother, who said to my gf that it wasnt deep enough.........but he really doesnt appear to keep up with mustangs all that much

Kyle...he's talking about cutting out his mufflers and welding in pipes instead. Nothing about the midpipe.

In my old wrx we hollowed out the catalytc converter and put in a straight pipe. *It's been a while, but I'm pretty sure that's what I did...*
