i have 40 series flowmasters on my 2000 GT and i'm not satisfied with the loudness, although i do like the tone that they give.. someone told me to put an h-pipe on to make it louder, is this true?
should i keep the cats on there. or does it matter
Where do you live. If you live somewhere that has tight emission laws then I wouldn't get Longtubes or an offroad pipe(Offroad pipes don't have cats). But if your looking for alot of sound then no cats will get you more of it. Also you will want to get your car dyno tuned if you get an offroad pipe as the check engine light will come on.
which will give me more sound.. catted x or catted h
I believe that a H-pipe gives you more of a oldschool musclecar sound, and a X-pipe is suppose to give you more of a modern European kind of sound. But I never ridden in a car with a X-pipe as far as I know, but I like the concept of how a X-pipe works better than a H-pipe. I have a friend who has a 01 Cobra with Flowmasters and a o/r H-pipe and it sounds pretty damn good.
I love my 40s series. I use to have v forvce which is suppose to be like flowmaster but that sounded like ass. I put an h pip cut the cats off and have the flowmasters on mine and it sounds pretty good to me. I get a lot of comments on it. Long tube headers are next hopefully. Go to my garage and watch the video on there.
