Ive now decided that what I want to do is just swap my engine with a v8. Except I dont know what kind of engine to get, or where to get one. I also need to know will I need to swap my transmission as well, when i do get the v8? I would really appreciate some direction. Thanks

Jah!
it will cost much more money in the long run...
unless your willing to learn alot... and thats the main purpose along with enjoying the hobby.. you shouldn't do the swap.

These gentlemen are correct. I wouldn't recommend it, unless you know what you are doing or are willing to spend a lot of time, money, and disappointment on it.

Its an endless headache and issue after issue. Simply sell the car and buy another one.

The only thing i can say is dont do it! everythings they've said is true! after the engine swap, of course you would need a better transmission. and whats the use of getting that if you have a rear end that i wouldnt trust with any of the power you could put on it as compared to the v6. a friend of mine swapped his v6 for a v8 but he had all the stuff off a wrecked gt and his dad has a shop so he came out real cheap. but for anyone that doesnt have that kind of access, it would be a huge waste of time and money.

if you're willing to make it an ongoing project car that you want to learn with and have some great friends who are willing to help you and teach you who know what they are doing, i'd go for it.
otherwise, you know

If you're serious about this then the best way to go about it in my opinion is to get the engine and tranny as a complete package. I was trying to get a link for you because I thought Brothers Performance had a packaged deal where you get the Cobra motor, engine, exhaust, wiring, gauge cluster and other parts for only $6,000.
I'm not sure if they still do this or not. Try searching online

Thanks for all the help guys. What Im going to do now is just buy myself a 1967 mustang fastback. I just really like the design of the 04 and ive taken such good care of my car I really dont want to let it go. But it sounds like it would be too difficult for a person of my experience. So Im just going to save my money and invest in the one car I really want, and thats the 1967 mustang. Thanks again for your advice.
