Would you like to see a remake of "Bullitt" featuring the new 2008 Bullitt Mustang? If so who should star as Frank Bullitt?

I dont really think the first one was very good, if they would actually make a good movie out of it it would be nice.

Nobody will agree with me, but I think Daniel Craig would make a great Frank Bullitt. But thats just IMO.

No. Based on the remake of Gone in 60...I am skeered to see how the chase scene would turn out. The chase scene in the original gone in 60 was half the movie practically with no useless CGI jumping across the river BS.
So, no, they wouldn't do it right.

holy crap i cant believe people think the newer G60S is bad, angelina jolie, stealing cars, "low rider", dogs poopin keys, bad guys with a addiction to wood, i dont think many films cover all those areas. Albeit the car jump was a bit over the top. The original G60S also was pretty horrid acting and just ugh, like a bad episode of chips or something.
I dont think Bullitt should be remade though. Nobody can pull off Bullitt like McQueen did.

I didn't say the new one was bad. I like it until the whole chase scene. After seeing the original (which did leave a lot to be desired acting wise)...if they would have held true to the final chase scene where the dude gets away with that lady's car after thrashing his and telling her that her's wasn't washed well enough...that was a great scene. The whole bullit deal with the chase scene, I Think we would see much of the same and it would ruin the overall feel of the movie.

Are you serious? No way. Daniel Craig is so much closer than those two guys. McQueen had the cool look and feel about him. Rugged, bad ass. Diesel looks like a roid pumping body builder and Walker is a fucking male model.

^^ No, he would want to use his music in the movie...and that would just ruin the sound track.

:wtf2: Ya'll don't think Walker, or Diesel would be perfect for the role. Walker played a damn good cop in The Fast And The Furious, and Vin Deasel is just tough as hell, Havent ya'll seen Boiler Room.
How about that Josh Harting fellow, he's a good actor, and he looks kind of like Bullit.

Not to mention his killer performance as an NSA Agent in xXx....and his emotional presentation of a Navy SEAL in the Pacifier.

Man Apart is prolly Diesels best movie. I havent seen boiler room, but every other VD movie is just a excuse for cheesy one-liners and big explosions.
anyone think the new bond guy would play it good?

Josh Hartnett. Not Harting. I think you are forgetting that Frank Bullit was more into his 30s and an established senior detective.

Most Likely. I don't think they should do a remake. I was just commenting on who I thought should do it if they ever did.

I wouldn't hold your breath for this movie. It's been in concept form since 2004, hasn't made any progress what-so-ever and is still going nowhere fast. Maybe it'll get put together in time for the 2009s to come out, but I doubt it. Wolfgang Peterson (Air Force One, Perfect Storm, Troy, Poseidon) has been linked to the movie as a Director, but he's always rumored to be directing a hundred different projects, so we'll see.
As for an actor - Daniel Craig would definitely get my vote if he's available. For one, he looks like Steve McQueen, and two, after seeing him play Bond, he can definitely bring the level of intensity needed for the role.

Ya, movies - not star/celeb watching (because those people quite frankly aren't all that interesting), but actual movies are a hobby of mine. If I do hear something I'll let you guys know.
Another car movie that's been talked about is Knight Rider, but it's in the same boat as Bullitt - Hasselhoff said back in 2000 while on Conan O'Brien that he was involved in a movie adaptation for Knight Rider, but that was about it.... didn't say if he'd be playing Michael again or not, and the movie's been in limbo ever since. I was thinking that maybe they'd change KITT over to a Camaro and use that for some great publicity, but the Camaro's coming back in September and the movie's still "in development" just like it was 7 years ago, so who the hell knows.

ugh that would suck, unless pontiac gets a TA version of the new camaro's.
what would be awesome is if they used the actual KITT car (whatever year TA) and based the movie in the present, where a kid at a junkyard finds the KITT car to race it and doesnt know what it is till he gets it home and it jumps to life, and he starts off by killing a bunch of honduh's then whatever goes from there (cop chases, autoxing the kitt, maybe gumball rally for kitt, etc) and then of course the movie ends where he vows to use kitt to end all crime in the world yadda yadda......
