well a local dealer knowsthat i have been lookin for a GT of the 99-04 yrs n gave me a call tonight. i will be trading my 2003 V6 27k mile mustang in on it if everything goes well. i owe 8500 on my V6 n they are going to pay it off. so they are trying to sell the GT to me for 17,900 + tax n tags. only going to run me an extra 50 a month on the car payment n a lil more for insurance. the inside is nice, just some minor wear scratches, butnothing major at all. not sur eif it was stock on 03 GT's but i also has the mach stereo system. and i got to look at it like a day after the guy traded it in, so i got to see how it really is b4 they polish it up. i did notice that the headlights looked inda scratched like almost how a brillo pad would lightly scratch paint n almot like a bubbling of the plastic on the inside of the lenses. lemme know your $.02
thank guys.

the mach 460, IMO sounds great for a stock stereo..
The lenses.. I've noticed a handful of the 99-04s have the same fading/wear issue as the fox bodies had.. so it could be as simple as that
Is the car an auto or manual?
And that price seems a tad steep, but not if they're giving you $8500 for your trade in... and after taxes/title/tags...
BE SURE to drive it, make sure everything works/drives/runs fine, that's key .... and it wouldn't hurt to have a mechanic or w/e check it out, make sure its been maintained/never wrecked..
sounds good to me man, good luck with it

it auto. n i have driven it and it everthing seems smooth. its getting new ires all the way aroud and i think new front breaks n front rotors. yea i was thinkin it was a little much as well. but ive been reading that my stang would actually trade in for around 7500. but my step dad is a good talker so he might be able to get them to know off the tax n tags. if they want the sale then they'll go for it.

dont trade in your car, thats anal rape waiting to happen. Ford offered me 7500 bucks for my car, I sold it a month later for 9500. Also that price is WAY to high dealers like to screw you over, first they offer you a good deal for your trade in then they simply add the extra that they had to pay for your car over what its really worth to them onto the new car. For that kind of money (18k) you can pick up a mach 1.... DONT DO IT
stick it out and sell your car, most good banks will allow you to buy a car and defer payments for 3 months so you can sell your car, you simply pay the interest for those 90 days at the end after you sell your car.
DO some research into the prices and you will have a much better idea of what is worth what and do not rush into anything, get what you want and please do NOT buy an auto unless you like to feel let down and pissed everytime you get in the car that you didnt get a 5 speed lol.

well i will be trading my car in on a GT, but thanks to you spec i realized how much i wished my 6 was manual instead of auto. so i will be checkin out ford dealers around town to see if anyone has any 02-04 manual GT's. if i dont find any i like, ill sit down with the GM of the dealership n look at their dealer auto auction list n go from their. so thanks spec, for savin me from makin a mistake.

yeah holy shit! i thought things were cheaper on the east coast!
I regret spending 15k (17k out the door) for my GT. I got raped hard. I still owe 13k on my GT a year later. GT's with under 50k should be around the 10-12k value depending on condition.
