How much is to much

On a stock 4.6 how much boost is to much. 4.6's are great motors and all and they do love boost as long as you keep it in moderation or so ive heard. So how much is to much before you say bye bye to mister motor?

They seem to go after 450rwhp/tq over sustained periods of time (the SOHC versions) I wouldnt run over 10-11psi and I wouldnt put a roots blower on them as they are harder on the engine, if you did that you would probably be limited to 5-6psi.

yeah a roots hits full boost really fast at low rpm's, which puts alot of stress on the rotating assembly, as opposed to a centrifugal which gradually comes on.

like spec said, 400-450 is prolly the limit and around 10-12psi.
