6 disc changer messing up

My brother has a 99 tacoma. It has a factory 6 cd changer (in dash) and when he got it, the guy he was buying it from took out all his cd's when he sold it to him, and it played them fine when he test drove it and everything. So when my brother got it home, he tried to load a cd into it, he pushed load, selected the slot, and put it in. It pulls it in, makes some noises, then pops it back out. It won't play anything. You can load cd's into all 6 slots, but when you try to play any of them, they pop back out.

Any ideas?

are they store bought or burned? some systems will reject burned ones. if they do accept them, they don't play properly or they have blank spots in them.

Welcome to the world of extremely shitty factory 6 disc changers. Ford has had problems with theirs for years too.

Mine already skips a lot with brand new, store-bought CDs. It is also really bad about starting back at the beginning of the CD if I turn the car off and back on instead of where it last stopped. Pretty annoying stuff...

no, it's not the cd's. We've tried every kind. I dunno what's wrong with it, but he'll probly just get a new headunit, or just use a tape adapter forever.
Any other thoughts still welcome

honestly dude i guarantee its an internal problem with the radio so unless you know alot about radios id just get an aftermarket
