I am pretty sure you can run any engine on E85 with proper tuning.

no, but you would need lots of fuel system behind it. If i remember e85 octane rating is much lower, so you must use more to maintain the correct air/fuel ratio, which means more injector, more pump, more fuel. theres a few dsm guys running e85 capible setups and ive seen some of their fuel maps, theyre almost 50% higher than a standard 91/93 octane fuel map.

E85 is extremely high octane, but carries less energy than regular gasoline. I think it's around 110 octane. You have to jet your carburetor (or recalibrate your fuel curves) richer to make it run right. E85 is also more corrosive than regular gasoline, so you have to make sure your fuel system is cut out for it.
If CarCraft.com would ever come up, I'll post a link to an article or two they've written about E85. It's poor man's race gas.

Hmmm I think I may want to look more into this. I wonder how much it would cost me to get everything set up to run it on E85.

yeah i was going to ask about how corrosive the the fuel system was. i remember when they put it on boats it would ruin fuel systems and such.

yeah Ford/ Chevy will advise not to run E85 unless you have a flex fuel engine. it is corrosive, but indiana is the leading state in producing E85. also when gas here is lets say $2.00 for a gal of 87Oct, E85 is about 2.50 a gal.... the price has not come down to be main stream yet.

Only thing really had to do to the fuel system was to make it bigger to handle the fuel supply, lines pump injectors..
Head can be stock or aftermarket, sorry about the quote
It takes a little longer cranking time about 4-5 seconds for me.. definately a different odor to it..
About 106 when blended to E-85. Stations up here will blend to about 70-75 E to gas for cold start issues.
As for corrosiveness it isn't too bad. It is not anyway near alcohol
Pretty much a tune for more fuel and add a few more degrees
This guy probally has done the most testing than anybody out there. The other ones on the market just dump in more fuel. He knows his shat...
