stock 289v8 upgrades

Just looking for some ideas for upgrades. I've got about $2000 for engine upgrages. Looking @ the edelbrock rpm power package. Anyone running this? Wondering what type of headers to run? Looking at Ceramic Tri-y Headers from MustangsUnlimited.com. I already have the mufflers. Dual (40 oringial series flowmaster 2.5"). Which carberator to run Holly Advenger or Edelbrock. Which cam to run? Which intake to run? Looking for 300-400Hp This car will be a daily driver. Sorry about the ramdom thoughts. Thanks for the help.

2000 should get you some nice aluminum heads and intake.

wouldn't mess with the rest till the next batch of money comes along

BTW, i'd check on the general condition of the motor before adding any go-fast parts.

Looking @ running the 570 or 670 electric

id go with the 570 if it were me cause enless u really put some hp under the hood i wouldnt put a huge carb on there. i like my 600 holley i have now for my daily driver it gives it some spunk for not having no aftermarket parts on it but its ur call on what to use thats just my opinion

I agree with gearbanger, A 670 on a mild 289 is enough to wash the rings out.

I would get a 302 or 351 and leave the 289 on the shelf it would suck to crack your block as 289s are not that common anymore nor cheap.

thing i love about 289s tho is they are nice reliable motors an can get so much power into such a small motor an run like a champ

a 289 block and a 302 block are pretty much the same, if you hosed up the block you could find a 302 block to replace it with and the only person to know the difference would be you.

I was looking at the 302 or 351 from a stoker pointage you get more cubes to punch out and think about high hi po 289's are getting I cant even find or fund a 4 speed or 289 right now...lol
