Now, what was the purpose of this game again? I mean, really, why was ND there?
It made sense to have LSU play "at home" for the "first game back after Katrina" (Man I am getting tired of hearing that name)....but damn...they could have at least put up more than an average High School team against them

What a great game, brought such a smile to my face. Detroit Lions need to go after Russel if he goes pro.

Russel would be the 6'5" 240 pound quarterback that showed Notre Dame how a successful offense works.

I just don't see how LSU got stuck playing Notre Dame instead of one of the higher ranked teams. Oh yeah, I forgot. Everyone sucks Notre Dame's collective cock.

Simple. Money.
Like them or not (and I def fall into latter) ND has a large following. Then they have as many or more people that LOVE to see them lose. Either way, for what ever reason, people watch their games. Result is $$$ And why do they play BCS games....$$$
Thought it was great that last night was their 9th straight bowl loss!!

I agree, although I loved the Lions for getting Shitna out of Cincy...I guess Detroit didn't watch much film on the guy.
Houston thinks Carr is God....they will probably take a center or linebacker in the first round.
The only reason I can think of is because ND is considered "The Face of college football"...at least, that is the phrase I heard a thousand times yesterday. It was in New Orleans, so LSU had to play "at home" and had to play against the "Face of college football" because it was the first game back in NO since Katrina blah blah blah. Also, the rose bowl probably wanted to make sure USC had an opponent they could beat instead of one that would show them up.
Side note...can anything happen in NO or relating to NO without the mention of fucking Katrina? Christ, how many other massive hurricanes have hit other areas of the country like florida, miss, etc, that don't get brought up every 5 minutes.

I was watching ESPN last night, and I forgot who said it, but the dude said something along the lines of "ND has been a terrible team over the last few years and never deserved a BCS bowl. Rutgers and ND should have swapped places" or something like that. I hate ND. They are terrible, and they still get al the damn recognition

actually carr is probably headed to the junkyard now. he's about as popular in Houston as Matt Millen is in detroit.

I'm just fuckin with ya'll.
Ya'll haven't realize that I joke around alot by now.
P. Manning is the best QB to ever play the game IMO. Atleast in terms of just pure natural talent.

i could think of others that are just as good or better, IMO, but that's another argument altogether.

glad i could make you laugh. but until manning wins the big one, he's flawed to me. so far all i see is a choke artist when it comes to clutch situations in the playoffs. he's good, borderline great, but he still has something to prove to me. and it ain't gonna happen this season. brady is great. montana is great. elway is great. aikman is great. but manning... eh.

Just because you didnt win a super bowl doesnt mean you arent a great quarterback. Dan Marino is one of the greatest quarterbacks ever and Peyton Manning will be right there next to him in the hall of fame one day

i agree on marino. but that is a tag that follows him. he is often called the greatest qb never to win a superbowl. it adds a certain stigma. and remember, this is just my opinion. a lot of people think manning's great. i just happen not to be one of them.

Well how do you know David Carr isn't the greatest quarterback ever? If I got stuck on a shitty team every year it'd make it a bit harder to get to a super bowl, much less win one.

Vince Young got put on the Titans. they lost their first 5 games. after he started they won all but one. not saying he's great, he's still got a lot to prove. and last i checked, Indy was supposed to be the team of the decade. hell, last year they almost went undefeated.
and as far as Carr goes, he cannot lead a team. a true leader can direct a team past mediocrity. at least into average. but he folds like a cheap suit everytime the pocket collapses. so, yes, i do think he sucks. that's why i think, as well as the rest of Houston, that the Texans need a new qb.

Vince Young also had a little luck on his side, which is a lot of football to. Do you get the right call in a game? Do you get a Linebacker wrapping you up only to let go and allow you to run for a first down on 4th and long to keep your team alive? Indy has had a very porous defense this year. Indy's offense has been able to stay with the other team though even though their d gives up so many points a game. You can have the greatest quarterback ever and not win the superbowl cause your defense sucks.
I mean look at Chicago. Horrible offense, horrible quarterback but they are in the playoffs.

like i said before, peyton's good. i just don't prefer him.
speaking of defense, what did happen to Indy's d? even the Texans, with Ron "The Old Man" Dayne, ran all over them.
by the way, that was second greatest Texans game i have ever seen. only because they finally beat Indy. the first is when they beat the plowboys on the first ever regular season game in the teams history.

Apparently Mr. Stumpy didn't read what I wrote very carefully. I said that P. Manning is the most naturally talented QB ever, not the best at winning big games, Tom Brady is much better in that respect.
 You should be ashamed of yourself Stumpy.

he has natural talent. i agree with that. but i still don't think he is the best in natural talent. IMO, that terminology would also include leadership in any situation. IMO, he loses that in the playoffs. once again, this is my opinion.
