Came accross this trolling the web

Nearly three years have passed since we first reported on Chevrolet’s plans for a super Corvette, a halo model well in excess of the already superb Z06. Judging by these spy shots, it appears assurances we were given earlier this year that the car was on the development fast track (“To Hell and Back,” May 8) were right on target.
While the hood scoop indicates this is something other than an ordinary Z06, the real prize is under the hood where our spies heard the whine of what is most likely a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 pushing as much as 650 hp.
The engine, which will be hand-built at a rate of 1500-2000 per year at the GeneralMotorsPerformanceCenter outside Detroit, features an integrated intake manifold intercooler similar to the one GM developed for the Cadillac STS V-Series
So far, names for the production supercharged Corvette include everything from Z07 to Blue Devil to Corvette SS to Sting Ray. No matter what they call it, look for production of the 2009 model to start in early 2008. And set aside at least $100,000 if you want to one in your driveway.

Why would they go with a 6.2 ltr when there is a 7.0 in the present Z06??? Hell, just throw a weiand or a magnacharger on it with a little less compression and 700 should be a stones throw away..

you guys dont believe everything you see do you?

the pics you linked look chopped. check out the blurryness of the front and rear bumpers compared to the shinier rest of the car, especially on the side views, where the background touching the front and rear bumpers is just as blurred. and if theyre not, thats a horrible hood tumor it has, i though my side scoops dont flow, that thing belongs on a scion xB.

Just to clear some issues up:
Lots of people who read that WindingRoad did a fake car now think that the Blue Devil as a project is non-existent. That is not true, the Blue Devil/SS/Z07 is still be developed, and all WR did was make a fake car that they had photography companies shoot without knowledge that it was a fake.

No real Yes or No answer has come up for the first Vette HerbStang posted, however it looks as though it could easily be a "mule" for the Blue Devil, since they'd obviously need a bit more room in the hood for the supercharger and there would be no reason to build a Blue Devil completely from scratch when you have a perfectly good donor (ZO6) sitting around.

Would you like me to get the article from the newest Motortrend where they say that GM is working on a "Super Vette"? Those pictures are also in the same article in said magazine. The project is a go and will still possibly be named "Blue Devil".
