Could anyone out there help me with some information.
I have a 5.4 truck motor laying around that I would like to put into my '04 V6.
Will a 4.6 auto trans bolt onto this?
What type of issues will I run into trying to fit this into the engine compartment?
Any thoughts or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

A transmission from the same year should bolt right up. Most of your problems will lie with the headers, tuning, and getting all the sensors and the computer. You will also need a different manifold if you plan on having any power up top. Or you could say forget it and get a Kenne Bell.

With or without the kenne bell?
I believe MM and FF did one and used a PI intake on the 5.4 and barely cleared the stock hood. With a P-D blower though, I'd advise to get a bigger hood.

I had always planned on a taller hood, but hadn't even put thought into a k member.
Thanks for the help.
Any other posts are also welcome.

Well it should fit but you might come with the same issues K Member and Hood. The 94's had some 5.0's if I recall right and to be honest there isnt much between a 5.0 and a 5.8 except stroke as the bore is exactly the same of course using some of the 5.0 parts you could make a 393 stroker with the 351.

not worried to much about fit, just wondering if there are any type of wiring clips that you could use to hook it up to hte existing wiring, or would you halve to completly re wire the whole car??? My main conerns are the heat and air, plus the guages..... Adam

You are not going to be able to plug your factory computer into a carburated engine.

Well you could get the ECM re written and keep it EFI but you will more than likely need a race harness to do what your wanting to do you could stroke the block as an option.

Well it is obvious it will work, look at the new boss!! I want to know how. How do you get the ac and all the other options to work with thtis motor??? Is some type of extrem custom wiring. Does the computer have anything to do with the comfort options??? Ie ac heat, windows, doors?? How would we intergrate this with the carburated motor???

On you wont have to use any kinda extreme custom wiring and yes you can get it to work without modding the ECM but getting the heater and ac controls to work depending on what type you go might be a project all of its own but shouldnt be to hard.
