Cabin Retreat - Joe Wheeler State Park - May 18-20

Alright, here is the official meet thread. This will take place on the weekend of the 18th of May, at Joe Wheeler State Park in Rogersville, Alabama (between Huntsville and Florence). The cost per person is $35. We have three 4 person wood cabins reserved. This is a map to show where they are located in relation to each other:



Here is the website for the park, just to give you an idea of things to do, also, it is close to civilization, so we can still go out to eat and such.

The more the merrier! As I stated, they have a cabin for up to 15 people, and the group lodge can hold 30. I need solid commitments asap.

I say since the list is so close to 15 no, reserve the 15 person anyhow, even if no one else shows. We can fit more than 15 in the 15...we have the technology. I think the only question is, will there be a ton of people or under 20...

I will have to find out thier polices on extra people, because the 15 person cabin is right between 2 staff cabins. I will make some phone calls either today or tomorrow and figure a lot of things out

The more I think about it...

So the 30 person cabin is 300 a night right? We get 30 people, that is only 10 per person per night...is my brain working right? Seems reasonable even if we don't get 30...hell, 10 people would only be 30 a night...I say we get the big cabin no matter how many are there.

Yeah, also, the 30 person lodge has a large kitchen (don't know if we would use it) plus a nice sitting area with a tv (the other cabins don't), a good bit of showers, and is about 10 miles from the actual park itself, and is right off the Elk river.

I think that needs to be the target period. It isn't that expensive if I am thinking right...It has the room and amenities and sounds like it is not between staff cabins which might not be good considering the group we have going.

I am thinking you are right. I am going to let it stand like this for a bit and let other people chime in, however, I think the lodge would be a good idea as well.

Dude...Golf is 22.50 per person for 18 holes WITH cart...man, we could have some real fun there. Car dudes with no golfing skills on a course with golf carts = real good time in the past.
