Been Working on the 65

Ok I have been trying to get the 65 cleaned up for a while its kinda or wel is bare bones right now but I wanted to remove the dust and clean off the windows since I got some new shiny black metal from JJ's Mustangs front radiator support and cross member under the radiator support,man have I got a lot of more metal to buy.I will send pics later,Ok I suck at this whole pic thing give me time.

Just bought my son a 65, This will be our first restoration project, not for show but a nice driver. The car is very solid and has 80% of the original parts and only 55,000 original miles on it. Also will be getting the original title.
I hope we are getting a good deal, I paid $2,750 for it. Runs good and has a lot of new stuff with it.
Any advice?

i just bought me a 67 about 4 months ago for my daily driver( gas wise dumb move but eh) an i payed 8k for mine with 3k miles since motor was redone an body work was about 90& good few odds an ends stuff needed to be done to it tho but over all good so id say ur getting a great deal, an thats nice u an ur son have a project to do with each other, me an my dad were doing a chevelle but stand stand still now :/, only advice i can see is to just go over the car well an make sure the guy did everything right cause on mine the guy didnt do bad but messed up in a few spots, brakes for one he put junkie shoes on an scared the crap out of me when they broke driving

I'd say you got a great deal. I used Mustangs Unlimited when I restored my 68 coupe. Anyone there can help with an order, but if you need advice, ask for Kevin. Sometimes he's hard to get cause he's their early model specialist. He's not afraid to spend time with you on the phone and talk about your project. Glad it was a toll free number! He helped me out a lot on my car. He saved me money when certain items could be found at my local auto parts or hardware store. Very helpful if you're doing a daily driver vs a concourse show car. By the way, I paid three thousand for mine in 1986. It was a good running 289 three speed car. Don't know how many miles were on it as the odometer didn't work. It looked good from the sidewalk, but up close the body and paint needed some help. We took about nine different colors of paint off of it when I finally got around to starting the job. Hope you and your son post a few pictures here when you're done! One of the best things I did on my pony was replace the gas tank. It was very inexpensive and easy to do. I would recommend adding an inline fuel filter if you choose not to put a new tank in, just because of how old the car is.

Gas tank replacement is a great ideal on any older Stang due to the garbage that can collect there over time.
