No it shouldnt affect it at all go down to Auto Zone or Advanced whom ever screws up the least and get the batt and Alt tested.

It Shouldn't Affect It, But Some People Do Have Dat Problem...the Under Drive Kits That R Out Today R Supposed To Be Better Than Those Of 5-7 Years Ago...however, I Think It Also Depends On How Much Electricity Your Car Demands....if U Got A Big Stereo And Ignition (i.e. Msd Box & Coil) System U May Wanna Stay Away From A Pulley Kit, Or Upgrade To A Larger Alternater, Or U May Just Need A Fresher Stock Alternator......i Retro Fitted A 130 Amp From 95 Stang & Put A 4cyl. Pulley On It....cause My Stock 75amp Wouldnt Charge At Idle Cause Of Ignition Sytem...now Makes 13 Amps & 550 Rpm....anyway U Shouldnt Have A Problem Wit A Mostly Stock Car

honestly if you have a newer car with a 130G altenator you should be fine...
but also, by that same honesty underdrive pullies are a waste of time the amount of power gained vrs the cost is about as negotiable as putting on a cold air kit.

I say any power gain or loss of parasitic drag is a good thing while they are not the biggest bringers of power I would recomend using them.

What does having a 5.0 have anything to do with it? I have a 5.0 and I have them on my car.

with my stock alternator i had chrging problems @ idle...i think stock is only 75 amp for my generation stang....i already got rid of smog pump and a/c....i finaly retrofited a 95 stang alt. (130 amp) and used a 4 cyl. alt. pulley. i suppose i could use a a underdrive pully set now if i wanted.....i personaly don't recommend using an underdrive set with a stock 75amp alternator....i guesse it all comes down to me being cheap...wit the smog pump and a/c gone, i feel that it negates the need for an underdrive set.....the amount of power u gain from a pulley set verses the cost....i consider them more cosmetic than a power adder....this is only my opinion ...but wit a 9psi supercharger. e-cam, 1.7 r.r. arms, ported heads, bunch of other crap....a pulley set aint gonna make me or break me...waste of money for cost verses performance...but evryone's application is differnt...and again, it's only my opinion.

Ah well if you're supercharged I understand not using them, as it would decrease your boost.
