I have a 1994 gt conv. and i want to put only one sub in the trunk(tired of defening stereos) and i have an idea but kinda stumped on how to do it. I want to put the sub(12") in where the spare tire is , i know, not smart but not gonna drive it a long ways anyway. want it to blend in with the whole trunk and look good. Any ideas as to how to go about it or if it is even possible?

you can buy little inserts for the side fender well areas of the trunk that are carpeted and all that. Not sure if the spare tire hole is deep enough.

you could probably have one made or make one pretty easily if you get a small enough sub to keep the overall volumne of the box low.

I've seen it done, it's best to run a truck speaker because the movement of the sub is limited and the air space required it relatively small. Easiest way to do it would be with fiberglass on the bottom and wood top for the speaker mount.

anything is possible with enough money.
whats holding you back is how much trunk space are you willing to lose. my neighbor across the street wants the same thing i did in my GT done to his 95 GT Convertible, and using the same sub i have he will have 0 trunk space.

Ive seen an integra with 3 10s in its spate tire well and it sounded really good. My best bet is that he laid dyno mat out over the entire trunk floor including the spare tire well, made a fiberglass box formed out of the tire well, and then made the top to blend with the trunk floor. Just make sure to check your trunk to prevent that horrible rattling.

yeah but thats a hatchback. its alot harder to do subs in a convertible's trunk, first downfall is getting a huge fiberglass enclosure in and out of the trunk area in the first place, unless you make it modular, which just took the difficulty level through the roof.
