I have NO idea why but my seatbelt seems to not want to work. I have to fight with it for about 10 minutes just to get it to come out long enough so that i can wear it. Any idea how to fix it? I thought it was all twisted or something, but that doesn't appear to be the case. I can't drive anywhere without it so any help would be appreciated

Could have something to do with the retractor... if its installed even slightly off or is too touchy... getting that replaced could help

I can get mine out pretty much trouble free but I have a bad habit of trying to shut the door, and the seatbelt is hangting out because it wouldnt contract.
Very annoying.

Because it's a Ford seat belt. Their "Seat Belt Design Team" is comprised entirely of orangutans (i.e. furry orangish monkeys).

had the same problems in my 99 6 banger. In fact the night i wrecked the seat belt didn't hold me in at all. I think there was a recall on those for certain years.
If i had money i would get a 4 point harness

If it's still under warranty make them replace it. If it's not then the easiest thing to do is ignore it, another thing you can do that is cheap is take the unit out, hit it a few times with a small hammer to loosen it up and put it back in.
It sounds weird but made both of mine start working again.
