Just be prepared to learn how to drive all over again. O and watch out for good dips in the interstate, those'll catch ya.
I say go for it though, if you'll team it up with a good set of c/c plates and shocks and struts.
Mine is lowered about 1.5 and that's as far as I'll ever dare go on a car...just for the record.

Do you have a rear sway bar? What about subframes?
The c/c plates will be necessary if you go anywhere around 1.5 and lower and look at spending around 200 for those if you get mm's, which I highly recommend.

And the front bumper isn't the bad part. My exhaust and subframes bottom out on everything, especially with the x pipe, it seems to hang a hair lower than the stock midpipes. I have problems with speed bumps and alot of driveways, and some roads from just the underside of my car.
And watch out for those parking stop and such.
Even with all this negative talk, I wouldn't trade my suspension for anything. I think it made the most difference overall in the driving feel of my car. Period.

Meh, you might as well pick up a GT swaybar from a junkyard, they're cheap.
But, be prepared to learn the hard way where you can and where you can't go. You'll get the hang of it.

I scraped my chin spoiler once or twice just not paying attention. As long as you pay attention to where you are driving and angle places, then you'll be fine. It's the pothole that owned it and my front bumper...lol.
When you lower a car that much, scraping here and there is just part of it if the car is a dd. No matter what other people tell you. I drive more careful on dips and such that anyone I know and I still have scrape marks on my subframes, my front bumper, my exhaust tips, etc. It's just part of it.

I'd say anything past 1.5" is too low. If you drop your car 2", be prepared to no longer be able to have fun driving your car due to being worried about scraping over every pebble in the road.

You can go pretty damn low without problems. You'll run into problems with your cats before you start having other problems.

My buddy had a v6 that he dropped 2 inches and he scraped and bottomed out everywhere and he didn't have a body kit or anything. I was used to driving a lowered car because my last one was tuckin but his was a pain to drive, it was worse than my car which was lower yet. I wouldn't go much more than 1.5 inches imo, thats what i have and many others have and i dont have to worry about too much except speed bumps. I try to avoid them at all cost anyway though.

dude but 2" looks sick i have 2" lowering springs at the house all i need is the shocks struts and c/c plates. Its not bad driving a lowered car just pay a little more attention when you drive is all.

2" does look sick, and if you're not running long tubes or a catted midpipe, it will be just fine. I have no problems with scraping and im easily dropped 2"

well i guess alot of it has to do with the area of where you live at.
my area has alot of potholes/bad roads and swerving around that shit is no fun esp all the time you know
its on your own discretion (prolly spelt that word wrong but who cares)

You'll probably still need them. Also, I don't have cats on my '90, yet it scrapes the mid-pipe everywhere I go still. It's only dropped about 1.4", but it's also a fox and they sit a little lower to begin with.

I went with 2" and still have a blast, My friends think it's funny how I've memorized all the bumps in central Michigan. I seem to scrape the front end at the exit of the local Wendy's and my gas tank cover will hit on the curb if I'm not careful backin in, and like everyone else, my pipes drag on everything. But I wouldn't lift it back up fo anything.

2: 2: If your rear sway bar ever bottoms out you will have left half of your car on the road behind you including the gas tank
To me the biggest problem is not scrapping when go to a 2" drop it is car ramps and floor jacks are useless. When visiting Brent last spring he had to use a stinking sizzor jack to lift the car enought to get a floor jack under it. That is major Suckage.
At a 1.5" drop there is a 90% chance you will need C&C plates or you can buy 2 new front tires rather quickly.

Haha, I totally forgot you can jack a stock mustang the normal way. I actually found a jack I can fit under my front bumper to jack the front end at one time. Only took me a few tries to get the right size.

indeed.
I have C-Springs and i will never even think about any lower than what it is now. but then again, im sure roads and parking lot entrances everywhere else but cali are engineered correctly and level, meaning you dont have to climb a mountain or go across a canyon to get in and out of parking lots.
when i was under the car to do the Xpipe i saw what the bottom of the roush front looks like. brought a tear to me eye. that sucker needs a skidplate or something.
another good point. I had to buy a new jack to get my car up, and even then i have to drive the fronts or rears onto a 2x4 to get enough clearance or else the jack arm will hit the roush side skirts before the pad makes contact with the frame, which cracks the paint on the poorly prepped skirts and thats teh suckage. raising and lowering the car went from a easy two minute process to 10 minutes. its a little easier now with the bigger rims/tires, they gave me a good 1/2" more of body clearance, but still i have to drive at least the fronts onto something to get my low-profile jack under.

I scrape bad on some driveways with my Eibach Pro Kit. Wouldn't recommend it for a daily driver. Plus what Corey said about not being able to use floor jacks and such.

I can still drive my car onto ramps....
I do have to use a scissor jack to get my floor jack under it though

When I drove my car onto ramps at bbunt302s house it BARLY cleared (the chin spoiler rubbed) just imagine if it was any lower than stock...
You can jack up a droped car by driving it up onto some 4x4's or what not bolted together in a step up type pattern, its just normal driving and getting serviced thats an issue.

well... needing CC plates is kind of an issue even for some cars stock, do you want your tires to be adjusted for more tread life or do you just want them to be adjusted within stock tolerances?
I personally would do CC plates and since you have an older car upgrade the struts/shocks at the same time as its all easier to do at the same time~
If you want to do it on a budget peice by peice you will probably be ok with out CC plates (60/40 chance maybe more)

If you take your slammed ride to a dealer. Make sure you tell them that your car is lower than stock because they will slam the lifts side rack into your side skirts, then swear it wasn't them.

Yeah last time I took anything to the dealer was my dads explorer well they kept saying that the 4WD on the car is done. Let it me known that it was just snowing a few days before and my dad used the 4wd with no problem
Yeah okay me and a buddy look and the dumbasses disconnected the module for the 4WD. We told them about it and they kept denying that they did anything to it. Never again.
BTW yeah you were lucky. All i ever hear is horror stories with people bring in their car to the dealer
