So I missed my classes today...
I stayed at my girlfriend's house last night and apparently I parked in a fire lane... but I didnt really.
There is designated parking for the residents of the housing complex but there is guest parking (2 spots) and the end of the road. About 15-20 meters from those 2 guest parking spaces is a sign that says fire lane and warnings about towing. I wake up this morning ready to go to class and I found my car conspicuously missing. The only possibilities: it got towed or stolen.
I'm hoping that it was towed... and I'm pretty sure it was because the fire lane. There was no marked curb though (I'm pretty sure fire lanes are red). Also, that is where the landlord tells the people to park as a visitor's spot.
So basically I was stranded this morning (still am actually), doing my homework on her computer, and hoping that her landlord (who is on the way over) will pay for the fines or whatever.

That sucks. I had my car towed at the turkey rod run in daytona. I was freaking out thinking it had been stolen. I parked behind a bldg. that supposedly had a no parking sign............ which it did it was broken and upside down behind some bushes............ that was a quick $125 down the drain. Hopefully her landlord will pay for yours.

Landlords are generally cheap, so I doubt you'll be compensated for the incident. Gov't/City agencies are notorious for snatching your money in the from of parking and moving violations, so its unlikely it will get dropped. Good luck though, hope you enjoyed a get out of school free card. LOL

i just got done meeting with the landlord. she really tried to help me but its out of her jurisdiction. she even called the towing company and flipped out on them for me. basically at the end of this street there is a dead end big circle turn around thing and fire code states that it has to be big enough for 2 firetrucks to move around. they tested it and figured that they were able to fit 2 parking spaces in at the one side. thats where i parked. however, some tow truck or parking cop not affiliated with the housing complex must have not known about the 2 parking spots being exempt from the fire lane and towed it. basically now that its been towed.. there is no way out of paying it. the landlord told me to keep the receipt and try to get them to refund it or something along those lines but im almost positive that isnt going to happen. 95 dollars down the drain for somebody else's incompetence...

make sure you do test out your trans and stuff of that nature. ive heard of many stangs being drug up onto a bed with the wheels locked or in gear and it tearing the gears apart. but on a lighter note, glad to see my fellow pennsylvanians stang was not stolen.
