Hi guys I want to know what is a better programmer the sct or the predator and why. Looking to get one real soon I seen the new sct don't know for sure if it is out yet but it looks pretty cool. Let me know what you guys think or if it is just personal preference.

IMO theyre both pretty equal. you can only do so much with a handheld though. basically id find the cheapest deal and go with that.

Between the two, I would go with the SCT.

It all comes down to the program on it for your car.
The hand held tuner is just a device. The person who creates the tune is what's important.

The SCT Hands down. I've had both, and Here's why SCT:
SCT: Allows you to have multiple tunes handy so you can switch it up anytime
Predator: Only allows you to have 1 tune on the tuner at a time. Must have a laptop handy with the additional tunes to transfer back and forth.
SCT: datalogging is quick and has some real cool software that lets you view the data live on a real cool interface.
Predator: Datalogs, but requires you transfer it to a laptop manually later...if you can get it to work, I couldn't.
SCT: Lets you datalog any or all possible parameters at a time.
Predator: Only allows you to select parameters from one of the 4 or 5 groups of parameters at a time. You can't monitor some from group a, some from b, etc. You have to log A first, then do the run again and log b.
Those are the main reasons I say go SCT...and they are all based on my personal experience of having the predator and then moving up to the SCT. One key point you will want to keep in mind is that you should make sure whomever is going to do your tune uses one or both of these devices to tune with. I had the predator then found a local tuner who only used SCT. So I moved to SCT...which turned out to be a great decision.

wht2002gt if you got them put them on, i didnt and still dont have any problems with them except a little less gas mileage, but my car was tuned a couple days after the injectors were put in. i noticed a little difference before the tune in the upper rpms but nothing major after the tune it became faster than my buddies 00 Z28

I support both systems, but personally prefer the Predator. The software is better organized, and the device has a backlit graphical display which is much more useful for in-car datalogging. The SCT Xcal2 is basically useless for datalogging without having a laptop hooked up.
You can get a reasonable tune up with either one, especially on the 04 and earlier cars.

However, with the SCT, you can datalog any group of parameters you want instead of only a set from the 4 or 5 groupings. I didn't like the predator's datalogging very much...specially since it would never transfer to my computer after the fact.
However, since i have a laptop, that requirement is not a big deal to me.

SCT for the exact reasons Rob posted. It's also very easy to datalog with, stupid easy.

The best part is if you want to transfer anything back and forth, you don't have to use technology from when Columbus sailed the ocean blue...you get to use USB instead of serial. Takes seconds to transfer, not minutes.

Not that I really care either way, but I've had the SCT applications lock up XP and require a hard power down to sort out. That's bad. On top of that, while the Predator does require you to log parameters from one parameter group at a time, many of the parameters are in several groups so this does not create a particular impediment to logging and diagnosing the vehicle.
In practice, the sample rate declines on both systems in direct proportion to the number of parameters you select for logging, so you normally want to keep logging down to 4 or 5 parameters during a wide open pull in order to gain a useful level of resolution.
Although it would probably make no difference to most of you guys, I also personally prefer the layout of the Chipmaster Revolution software over the Advantage III software. Maybe that skews my opinion in favor of the Predator too.
