V6 Mustang Valve Clatter

I have 1996 Mustang with the 3.8 liter. I am having a problem with valve noise. From the valve train area there is a faint rattle all the time and valve ticking after warm up. I also had a problem with low oil pressure. I replaced the pump and the pressure looks O.K. now. I am hoping it is a problem with the lifters.
I suspect it is something more severe but does anyone know if a problem with the lifters could be one cuase of these symptoms?

it could be fuel related what octane rating are you running?it's very remote from the sounds of it but it still could be it.

what are you using to check the oil pressure?

Lifters can cause ticking. so can a small exhaust leak. You could also have a fault PCV valve. Low octane gasoline can also contribute to this. If you live in a place with crappy gas it can be a problem.
